이 영어 문장들, 어색한 부분이 있을까요?

영어 문장 두 개가 헷갈려서 질문드려요.
“Three times as many people use instant messenger services for sending files than for news.”에서 as와 than이 함께 쓰여 어색한 것 같아요.
“For two weeks we shared our souls with these children who won our hearts the very moment we met them.”에서 the very moment가 중간에 들어간 이유와 문장 해석도 궁금합니다.
